Hi Tobin, thanks for taking the time to chat to us today! Let’s kick off by introducing Seraph, what was your inspiration behind launching the company?
“Thanks for having me! I’ve always been deeply involved in gaming, and back in the early days of multiplayer online games, I was fascinated by the expansive virtual worlds, player-driven economies, and the sense of community they fostered. Games like EverQuest and World of Warcraft set the foundation for immersive, persistent worlds where players had real agency. Having closely observed the evolution of Web3 gaming over the past few years, I realized there was a growing demand for deeper, more engaging experiences that keep players invested beyond a 30-day window. With that vision in mind, we launched Seraph: In the Darkness—a classic dark fantasy ARPG with hack-and-slash combat mechanics, allowing for item customization tailored to users’ playstyle.”

What are some of the barriers to mainstream adoption of Web3 games?
“I was stunned to see recently that over 60% of players disengage from Web3 games within the first 30 days. Common complaints include poor gameplay mechanics and a lack of long-term incentives, so we wanted to address these glaring issues while creating a player-driven, blockchain-powered economy.”

I saw that Seraph was the top dApp on BNB Chain, with over 1.2 million users in the last 7 days. What does this achievement mean to you?
“This was a major milestone achievement for Seraph. Season 1 was a resounding success across both our Web3 and Steam versions. We had 13,132 player registrations on our Web3 version as well as 13,263 active players on Steam. Overall the game became one of the top dApps on BNB Chain with over 900,000 monthly interactions.”

Congratulations on your recent successful TGE. Can you tell us a bit about the token utility?
“Thanks! Our native utility token SERAPH is available on top exchanges such as Bybit and Kucoin. The token is underpinned by a balanced token economic model that promotes long-term user engagement, rewarding loyal community members, while driving sustainable growth of the ecosystem.”

In your view, what is driving the deployment of AI agents within Web3 gaming?
“The confluence of AI and blockchain presents a powder keg of innovation for Web3 games. AI Agents can make the experience much richer and more player-centric than the old NPC type interactions gamers are accustomed to. AI agents can also autonomously create new levels and quests, introducing adaptive challenges as well as unpredictable gameplay.
For us, we are planning to transform the in-game pet that every player owns into an AI agent. These AI-powered companions will not only provide personalized gameplay suggestions but also act as an in-game knowledge hub, like a small game Wikipedia, helping players navigate mechanics, lore, and strategies. Beyond that, they will interact dynamically with players, evolving based on player behavior and choices, making the gaming experience more immersive and engaging.”
-
What role can AI play in a game’s design and mechanics?
“AI can be put to work to power procedural world generation, adaptive enemy behavior, and NPC dialogue systems, ensuring every player’s experience is unique. Additionally, AI-driven NPCs learn from player choices, making interactions more dynamic and user-centric.
AI has also been a great help during the development of Seraph, assisting with localization, artwork, NPC dialogues, coding debug, and more. By automating and streamlining these processes, we saved significant development time and managed to launch Seraph faster than expected. This allowed our team to focus more on refining gameplay mechanics and enhancing player engagement, ultimately delivering a more polished experience.”
-
How does your game differentiate itself from traditional ARPGs?
“Unlike traditional ARPGs, our game integrates play-to-earn (P2E), AIGC (AI-generated content), and an open marketplace, fostering a player-driven economy. Players have greater control over in-game assets and transactions, shaping the ecosystem through their participation. Our AI-driven mechanics ensure players receive optimal gaming experiences both in and out of combat, dynamically adjusting to their playstyle and enhancing engagement.”
-
What do you have in store for the rest of 2025?
“Following the successful conclusion of Season 1, our development team is focused on delivering fresh content, enhanced gameplay mechanics, and new challenges. Season 2 is currently in the works, with further updates designed to increase player retention and attract new participants to the Seraph ecosystem. Upcoming content updates will prioritize expanding engagement, refining gameplay, and strengthening the in-game economy.”
-
Where do you see blockchain gaming and your company in the next five years?
“Honestly, we envision a fully decentralized gaming ecosystem where players have true ownership, cross-game asset utilization, and AI-driven immersive storytelling. We want to be at the center of this new era. Ultimately, our goal is to pioneer next-gen AI-powered blockchain games that redefine player agency while building strong, player-driven IPs that can evolve beyond the game itself.”
