Phantom and Sui have agreed to end Sui network support on Phantom on September 24, 2026, marking the end of the wallet’s integration with the blockchain. The two teams described the decision as a mutual agreement and left open the possibility of exploring other collaborations in the future.
The announcement gives Phantom users roughly one month to prepare for the transition. After September 24, users will no longer be able to manage Sui assets through Phantom in the same way, including viewing balances, sending transactions, swapping tokens, or accessing Sui applications through the wallet. However, the assets themselves will remain on the Sui blockchain and will not disappear.
Phantom and Sui End Wallet Integration
Phantom originally introduced Sui support in January 2025 as part of its broader multichain expansion. The integration allowed users to hold, transfer, buy and swap SUI while also accessing applications across the Sui ecosystem from within the Phantom wallet.
The decision to end the integration does not mean Sui itself is shutting down or that users will lose ownership of their SUI. Phantom remains a self custodial wallet, meaning users retain control of their private keys and recovery credentials. Users can therefore access their Sui assets through another compatible wallet after the September 24 transition date.
Phantom and the Sui team have also avoided framing the decision as a permanent break between the two ecosystems. Their statement leaves the door open for future collaborations, suggesting that the end of wallet support does not necessarily rule out other forms of cooperation between Phantom and Sui.
What SUI Holders Need to Do
Users holding SUI or other Sui-based assets inside Phantom should take action before September 24. One option involves moving the assets to another wallet that supports the Sui network. Users can also use their recovery credentials to restore their wallet in a compatible Sui wallet, allowing them to continue accessing their assets after Phantom ends its Sui integration.
Another option allows users to convert their SUI into assets that Phantom continues to support. Phantom has waived its own fee for converting native SUI into wrapped SUI on Solana until the transition date, although applicable network and exchange fees can still apply.
Users should also remain alert for phishing attempts during the migration. Phantom warns that its support team will not contact users first, request a Secret Recovery Phrase or private keys, or ask users to transfer funds. Anyone making such requests should be treated as a potential scammer.
What the Phantom-Sui Split Means
The end of Sui support represents a notable change for Phantom as the wallet continues to adjust its multichain strategy. Phantom has expanded well beyond its original Solana focus, supporting networks including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base and Sui, but recent changes indicate that its supported network lineup can evolve as the company reassesses integrations.
For the Sui ecosystem, losing direct access through a major multichain wallet could affect how some users interact with Sui applications and assets. At the same time, the network continues to have dedicated wallet infrastructure, meaning SUI holders have alternatives rather than losing access to the blockchain.
The September 24 deadline is therefore primarily a wallet support transition rather than a shutdown of Sui or SUI assets.Users who hold Sui assets through Phantom should complete their migration or conversion before the deadline to avoid disruption, while Phantom and Sui have indicated that future collaboration remains possible.
