Hyundai announced on Monday that it has partnered with the “Meta Kongz” nonfungible token (NFT) project to develop a limited collection of 30 NFTs that will be released in May 2022.
The automobile company recently published a film illustrating the “Metamobility Universe.” The latter refers to the company’s NFT initiatives, which were initially revealed earlier this year.
The “Meta Kongz” gorilla character in the film drives from Earth to the Moon in a 1975 Hyundai PONY, symbolizing how mobility options can span time and space. In addition, the film reveals a star-shaped shooting NFT that will be released in May.

Aiming to build its own NFT community, Hyundai has opened a public Discord server and created a new Twitter handle for NFT-related communications, @Hyundai_NFT. With plans to appeal to a younger audience, targeting the Millennial and Generation Z (MZ) demographics.

Hyundai unveiled its innovative ‘Metamobility’ concept in January. This involves utilizing virtual reality (VR) equipment to control physical robots from a distance. It may also enable users to link tangible smart objects, such as cars, to virtual environments in the metaverse for virtual reality experiences.
President and Head of the Transportation-as-a-Service (TaaS) Division at Hyundai, Chang Song stated that;
“The idea behind Metamobility is that space, time and distance will all become irrelevant. By connecting robots to the metaverse, we will be able to move freely between both the real world and virtual reality,”
Hyundai improved on its concept, implying the possibility of a “Hyundai Metamobility world,” a metaverse in which multiple NFTs are issued as mobility vehicles. The automobile company is the first to establish community-based NFTs that allow owners to engage in the Metaverse space that the company created.
