Google Finance has added a dedicated crypto tab. This addition to Google’s platform reflects Google Trends, which shows a significant increase in the number of users searching ‘crypto’. This new feature highlights that the search engine giant has realised crypto’s increasing mainstream presence.

The new tab appears in the “Compare Markets” category, together with stock and currency markets. The crypto section provides real-time pricing and key historical data for various crypto’s, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. At the moment, the new feature only tracks a limited number of cryptos, however, it is likely that more coins will be added to the platform over the coming months.

Over the past year, the crypto market has attracted many large scale institutional investors, reaching deep into their pockets, including the likes of MicroStrategy and Tesla. Crypto is slowly but surely gaining mainstream adoption. 2021 is going to be an exciting year.
