South African cryptocurrency traders who utilize the popular “AltcoinTrader” cryptocurrency trading platform will be happy to know that their funds are 100% safe. This comes after users were presented with a notice saying “the site was under maintenance” when visiting the platform’s website today, Friday 12 April 2019.
Richard de Sousa, the company’s founder and CEO spoke exclusively with Global Crypto and said that in the early hours of this morning, the security team at AltcoinTrader identified an unauthorised user/s attempting to gain access to the site. AltcoinTrader’s security team quickly shut down all potential access, and have since patched the area where this unauthorised user/s was attempting to enter.
De Sousa went onto say in a telephonic conversation with Global Crypto:
“We can 100% guarantee that all user’s funds are absolutely, 100% safe. There is no need to fear. We practice the highest form of digital security, from low fund hot wallet practices, to distributed, multi-factor executive access to the site and its cold storage. We ask the public and valued AltcoinTrader users to please be patient while we reactivate the website and its updated, even more secure platform.”
De Sousa also emphasised that security is AltcoinTrader’s highest priority, which is why no single executive at the company has access to the site or its off-site funds.
We will update this story as and when we gain more information.
