Apple’s recent job posting seems to suggest that the company may finally be looking to explore cryptocurrencies for its payment services.

According to a job posting on the company’s website, The Apple Wallets, Payments and Commerce (WPC) team is searching for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead Alternative Payments Partnerships. Amongst other things, the ideal candidate should have “5+ years experience working in or with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, cryptocurrency….”

While the job posting looks promising to crypto enthusiasts, Apple has yet to announce concrete plans for expanding into the crypto market.

If, however, Apple were to integrate crypto payments and other crypto related services with Apple Pay, this would be an incredible step for crypto adoption. Apple Pay is currently one of the largest payments processors with a user base of more than 65 million people. If crypto payments and other crypto related services were to be integrated with Apple Pay, this would likely open the door for many more people to be exposed to cryptocurrencies.
