Over $1 billion worth of residential mortgage records has now been tokenized on the Injective blockchain, marking a major milestone for real world asset (RWA) tokenization and blockchain based financial infrastructure.
The milestone comes through Pineapple Financial, which has moved 2,079 mortgage records representing more than $1 billion in value onto Injective. The company plans to eventually bring more than 29,000 funded mortgages worth over $10 billion onchain.
Pineapple Brings $1B in Mortgage Records Onchain
Pineapple Financial began its Injective tokenization initiative in December 2025 with 1,259 mortgage records. By September 2026, the migration had expanded to 2,079 records, with each onchain record containing more than 500 data points related to the underlying mortgage.
The records can include loan level information such as borrower details, loan terms, funding information and risk metrics. Rather than creating new securities that directly represent ownership of the mortgages, the blockchain records provide an onchain representation connected to the underlying loan files. This distinction is important because the tokenized records do not themselves transfer ownership of the underlying mortgages.
The development gives Injective a significant position in the growing real world asset tokenization market. Injective says the milestone makes it one of the largest Layer1 networks by total RWA asset value, while Pineapple’s broader migration target could eventually bring more than $10 billion of mortgage assets into the network.
Injective Targets Institutional RWA Tokenization
The mortgage initiative forms part of Injective’s broader strategy to build blockchain infrastructure for financial markets. The network’s tokenization platform is designed to allow institutions to issue real-world assets onchain while supporting trading, lending, settlement and other financial applications.
Injective says its tokenization infrastructure can support permissioned environments, KYC requirements and jurisdiction specific compliance rules. Its Injective Mint platform is also being developed to help institutions issue and manage tokenized assets without building custom smart contracts for every asset.
The network has also attracted other institutional tokenization initiatives. Injective highlighted a tokenization pilot involving LG and POSCO International, while its affiliate recently obtained SEC-registered transfer agent status, strengthening the blockchain’s push toward regulated financial infrastructure.
$10B Mortgage Migration Could Expand RWA Market
Pineapple’s current $1 billion plus migration represents only part of its planned blockchain strategy. The company intends to eventually move more than 29,000 funded mortgages representing over $10 billion onto Injective, potentially making the initiative one of the larger single company RWA tokenization projects in the market.
The development arrives as financial institutions increasingly explore blockchain tokenization for traditionally difficult to digitize assets. Tokenized real estate remains a relatively small portion of the broader RWA sector, but projects involving mortgage records, property funds and government backed property initiatives are expanding the range of assets moving onto blockchain networks.
For Injective, the Pineapple Financial migration strengthens its positioning as a blockchain built around financial applications and real world assets. If the company completes its planned $10 billion migration, Injective could gain substantially more onchain financial data and further establish itself as infrastructure for institutional real estate and mortgage tokenization.
